The Beta Sigma Chapter of Kappa Delta was founded at The University of Southern Mississippi on May 14, 1949. With women from 11 different states, Kappa Delta Beta Sigma has become home to a diverse group of women committed to building confidence and inspiring action.
In the 2016-2017 academic year, Kappa Delta Beta Sigma raised over $40,000 for Prevent Child Abuse America, resulting in Vice President Community Service, Anna Claire Mercer, being named the Dr. Eddie Holloway Outstanding Community Servant. Along with hosting Girl Scout parties and International Women's Friendship Month events, Beta Sigma was awarded the Most Outstanding chapter in Community Building. Beta Sigma also received Standards of Excellence in Academics, Philanthropic Fundraising, Leadership Development, and Retention.
Not only are we involved in our Greek Community but also on Southern Mississippi's campus. Out of our 127 members, seven members serve on the Student Government Association, 22 Luckday Scholars, 30 Honors Society members, 17 Eagle Connection members, and two members serving on CPC and JPC Executive Councils.
